Samichlaus Classic
Samichlaus Classic is a legendary strong lager from Schloss Eggenberg in Austria. This distinctive beer is brewed only once a year, on December 6th, then aged for ten months before bottling. At 14% ABV, it ranks among the world's strongest lagers.
The nose reveals a complex blend of molasses, raisin, dark fruit and alcohol warmth. On the palate, rich malt dominates with notes of caramel and chocolate, supported by subtle umami-like character. The body is thick and syrupy, as befits the style, with a dry, lingering finish that emphasizes the strength.
This bock is a meditation beer, meant to be savored slowly and reserved for special occasions.
