Dubbel

Affligem Dubbel is a dark brown abbey ale with nearly a thousand years of brewing heritage. The story begins in 1074 when battle-scarred knights turned monks; after destruction during the French Revolution, the tradition was revived in the early 20th century.

This dubbel is brewed with four different malts and two aromatic hop varieties. It pours a rich ruby-brown with a firm, silky head. The nose reveals complex spice, anise and raisin notes, with hints of sweet caramel.

The palate is elegant and balanced, opening with crisp malt, white bread and cracker notes followed by subtle fruitiness. Caramel and raisin flavours linger without dominating. A light bitter finish brings the classic abbey beer to a graceful close.
