Samuel Smith's Old Brewery

Samuel Taddy Porter

Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter hails from Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, where Samuel Smith's Old Brewery has brewed since 1758. This classic English porter was reintroduced in 1979 and played a vital role in reviving the style across Britain.

The brewery draws water from an original well sunk in 1758, combining it with malted barley, roasted barley and cane sugar. Fermentation takes place in traditional stone Yorkshire squares. At 5% ABV, it delivers an impressively full body and smooth, inviting character.

Taddy Porter pours deep and dark with fine carbonation. The nose shows cacao, coffee and roasted grain. The palate brings chocolate, caramel and fig notes, balanced by the dry, tangy character of roasted barley. It finishes clean and smooth.
