Rügener Insel-Brauerei crafts this Baltic Stout on the German island of Rügen, an ambitious dark beer at 7.5% ABV. The brewery, founded in 2015 by Markus Berberich, employs open fermentation and combines barley, wheat and oat malts to build body and creaminess.

Pitch-black in colour, this stout reveals intense roasted character: coffee, cocoa and toasted bread dominate the aroma and palate. Toffee and caramel provide sweetness, while the high proportion of roasted grains creates a smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Subtle notes of dried fruit emerge in the finish.

A full-bodied, complex stout that pairs beautifully with dark chocolate and rich desserts. The beer earned silver at the World Beer Awards 2023.
