Zware Barrie was brewed specially to mark the 100th anniversary of the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem. This robust barleywine at 10% alcohol draws inspiration from the brewing traditions of small Brabant breweries from the 18th and 19th centuries, of which this brewery—dating from 1750—is an authentic example.

With its full body and warming character, Zware Barrie delivers a rich, sweet finish. This is a beer for those who appreciate bold flavour and warmth. Though no longer in production, it stands as a testament to the rich Dutch brewing heritage preserved within the museum.
