Black Flag is an ambitious hybrid from Oproer in Utrecht: a Black IPA that marries the dark, full body of a stout with the hop bitterness and flavour intensity of an IPA. The beer is brewed from pale, amber, caracrystal, chocolate and rye malts, anchored by roasted barley. Cascade hops deliver a resinous, grassy character with citrus rind notes.

The nose opens with floral hop, followed by sweet stone fruit that gives way to caramel and biscuit. Dry fermentation results in a clean, assertive finish with lingering bitterness. This is a beer of real depth and substance, unafraid of its own hop character.
