Quadrupel
La Trappe Quadrupel is the iconic Trappist ale from Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven, brewed by monks at the Abbey of Our Lady in Berkel-Enschot. In 1991, this beer defined an entirely new style: the Quadrupel. At 10% alcohol, it is a heavyweight, complex brew with a warm amber colour and creamy head.
The full, heart-warming taste is built on carefully selected malts and hops, fermented with a characteristic top-fermentation yeast strain. Notes of clove, nuts, vanilla, raisins and banana converge in a malty, sweet profile with hints of date and caramel. Bottled with yeast and sugar, fermentation continues in the bottle, creating a unique aroma.
The finish is smooth with a gentle bitterness. This is a beer steeped in tradition and depth.
