Muifelbrouwerij from Oss created Black Bastard to celebrate their tenth anniversary. This Imperial Stout spent ten months maturing in Buffalo Trace Bourbon casks, adding significant depth to the beer. The result is thick, pitch-black and boozy, with a complex flavour profile where roasted coffee and espresso dominate. The bourbon barrels contribute warmth and character to the already full, bitter malt foundation.

The nose shows roasted, alcoholic notes. On the palate, a full, slightly bitter taste unfolds with intense espresso and coffee character. The finish is warming and lingering. Despite its heavy flavours, the beer maintains surprising elegance.
