Mont des Cats
Mont des Cats is a Belgian strong ale brewed in the Trappist tradition at the abbey of the same name in French Flanders. Though the monastery's original brewery closed in 1907, the beer is now produced according to authentic Trappist recipes in collaboration with external breweries, maintaining the monks' brewing heritage.
The aroma reveals dark fruits, raisins and dates, with subtle baking spices and earthy, herbal hop notes. On the palate, pleasant caramel malt sweetness mingles with dried fruit, gentle spice and a peppery phenolic character. The beer shows medium body with a dry, lingering finish that carries hints of anise and dried fruit complexity.
