Maenhout Ferre Oaked Aged Whisky
Brouwerij Maenhout from Pittem honours Ferdinand Verbiest, a seventeenth-century Flemish missionary and scholar, through this ambitious quadrupel. Ferre Oak Aged is a full-bodied, malty quadrupel at 11% ABV that has matured for half a year on oak before being infused with beer. The result is a soft, rounded beer in which Ferre's characteristic maltiness is enriched with warm wood notes, vanilla and a whiskey-like touch.
The aroma reveals caramel, oak and dried fruit. On the palate, dark fruit and raisin notes emerge, supported by warming alcohol. A characterful beer designed for leisurely contemplation.
