Kaapse Carrie
Kaapse Carrie is an amber-red IPA from Kaapse Brouwers, the independent Rotterdam craft brewery that has pursued bold recipes and challenging flavour experiments since 2014. This IPA balances a substantial caramel malt backbone with pronounced hop bitterness. Galena, Cascade, Chinook and Simcoe provide bittering and flavour character, while Amarillo and Cascade deliver the dry-hop edge.
The beer presents a lasting off-white head. The aroma is floral and grassy with prominent passion fruit and orange peel notes. On the palate, bready caramel malt meets earthy, herbal hop character and a dry, bitter finish. Medium to high carbonation rounds out the profile.
