Bourgogne des Flandres

Bourgogne des Flandres is a historic Flemish blend brewed since 1911, revived in Bruges by John Martin. This amber-hued beer is crafted through the traditional Flemish blending method, combining young and aged beers for balance between fruit and acidity. The recipe uses 70% malted barley and 30% unmalted wheat with aged hops, following time-honoured brewing principles.

The palate reveals sweet caramel and brown malt notes with fruity esters and gentle tartness. Citrus and spicy undertones add complexity, while subtle oak and sherry-like oxidation from barrel ageing emerge softly. Light-bodied with gentle carbonation, the beer drinks smoothly despite its layered character and lingering dry finish.
