Brewed since 1848 at Friesisches Brauhaus zu Jever in northern Germany, Jever Pilsener is a pilsner with an edge. Assertively bitter, lean and dry, it does not soften for mainstream palates. Brewer Ernst Böhme refined the recipe in 1934 into what stands today: a beer that divides opinion but commands loyalty from those who embrace its character.

The bitterness comes from a two-stage hop addition of Hallertau and Tettnang varieties, delivering 40 IBU. Malts from the Netherlands, France and Germany form the base.
