Grand Prestige Vatgerijpt marks the sixth edition of Hertog Jan's annual barrel-aging project. For the 2022 release, the brewers journeyed to Normandy, drawing inspiration from traditional French craftsmanship. The result is a barleywine matured for twelve months in Calvados casks from the region.

This beer presents itself in deep reddish-brown, full-bodied and richly flavoured. Aromas and tastes of raisin, honey, apple and pear emerge—a harmony shaped by time spent in French oak. The velvety mouthfeel and substantial character make this a contemplative pour, a fitting conclusion to an evening.
