Vatgerijpt #23 represents an ambitious single-batch experiment by Grutte Pier Brouwerij from Bartlehiem, Friesland. One 2000-litre base stout was split into five distinct fruit-forward variants, each developing its own identity. This expression matured for eight months in a cask previously used for Port and then blue berry mead. The result is a full-bodied Imperial Stout layered with subtle wine influence and dark berry notes.

At 10% ABV, the warmth is evident and welcoming, while the complex cask history adds depth beyond simple roasted character. This is craft brewing where each barrel tells its own story.
