Grutte Pier Bretttûne Fruit Kers-Cider
Bretttûne Fruit Kers-Cider is a wild-fermented sour from Grutte Pier Brouwerij in Friesland, part of their experimental Brouwboerderij range. This light sour was aged in cider casks with cherries and underwent secondary fermentation with Brettanomyces yeast in French oak barrels, developing a complex fruity character with subtle tartness.
At just 3% ABV, this is a refreshing beer suited to warm weather drinking. The interplay of wild fermentation, cherry fruit and oak aging creates a layered, approachable sour with genuine character. It earned gold at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2024 in the Innovation/Sour/Brett category, reflecting the brewery's experimental spirit.
