Goose Island Honkers Ale

Honkers Ale is the beer that started it all for Goose Island, first brewed at their Clybourn brewpub in Chicago in 1988. Founder John Hall drew inspiration from English pub culture and country ales, creating an English Style Ale that honours that heritage.

The beer strikes a balance between fruity hop aromatics and a substantial malt backbone. Toasted biscuit and caramel notes come through, with hints of nuttiness and light citrus from the hops. The finish is dry and easy, without aggressive bitterness.

At 4.3% ABV, this is an approachable, smooth-drinking beer—exactly what a classic English Bitter should be. Its refined character makes it perfect for leisurely enjoyment.
