Friekens Bas
Friekens Bas is a distinctive saison from Amsterdam-based independent brewery Friekens, located in Noord. This beer embraces an unconventional brewing philosophy: the yeast is not allowed to rest, instead activated by sound during fermentation. The result is a lively, characterful beer with genuine personality.
The saison draws on traditional recipes with refined ingredients: Pilsner, Munich and wheat malts form the foundation, enhanced by chamomile and sweet orange peel. Brewer's Gold and Northern Brewer hops provide subtle bitterness and aroma. At 6.5% ABV, Bas achieves balance between approachability and flavour depth.
Friekens brews at small scale with dedication to pure taste and natural ingredients, eschewing extreme alcohol levels or experimental fruit additions. This beer embodies that commitment.
