Achel Blond
Achel Blond is a blonde Trappist ale at 8% ABV, brewed within the walls of Sint-Benedictusabdij De Achelse Kluis in Hamont-Achel, Belgium. The monastery, situated on the Belgian-Dutch border, has maintained a brewing tradition since 1850. Achel Blond is a strong, fruity ale with a golden hue and layered character.
The nose reveals citrus fruit, banana, honey and subtle spice notes, complemented by brioche malt. On the palate, initial sweetness gives way to drying towards the finish, with gentle hop bitterness balancing the malt sweetness. The beer carries a medium body with fine carbonation and a clean, satisfying conclusion.
