Fade to Black is a black IPA from Baxbier Brewery in Groningen, brewed at 7.2% ABV. This ambitious IPA merges the hoppy character of an IPA with the dark malts of a black ale. The beer was originally brewed for the Beer Geeks Beat ALS campaign, where the symbolism of the dark colour played a central role.

The aroma is dominated by hop bitterness and roasted notes. On the palate, the balance between spicy hop bitterness and dark, lightly roasted malt flavours comes through. The finish is dry and bitter, with a pleasant emphasis on the hop bitterness characteristic of the IPA style.
