Rousse
Corsendonk Rousse is an amber ale from Brouwerij Corsendonk, rooted in a brewing heritage stretching back to 1398, when the Priory of Corsendonk operated a significant brewery and malt house. This crystal-clear red-amber beer arrives with a rich nose and fine, persistent head.
The aroma reveals hazelnut, caramel and orange, complemented by fruity hop character. On the palate it is mild and well-balanced, with notes of caramelized malt, apricot and cinnamon. The bitterness sits comfortably in the background, supporting rather than dominating the flavour.
The finish is clean, with a light hop bitterness that lingers gently. At 8% ABV, the alcohol warmth is present but measured, making this a substantial yet approachable beer.
