Chimay Dorée
Chimay Dorée is a golden patersbier from the Trappist monks of Scourmont Abbey in Belgium. Originally reserved for the monks and their staff, this lower-alcohol ale was later released to the public. At 4.8% ABV, it offers an accessible entry point to Chimay's range without sacrificing character.
Brewed with pale ale malt, Hallertau hops, coriander and bitter orange peel from Curaçao, Dorée strikes a distinctive balance between sweet, fruity notes and spicy warmth. The Chimay house yeast brings the signature fermentation character that sets this beer apart from ordinary blonde ales.
In the glass, a clear golden colour with fine, persistent foam. The aroma reveals citrus, honey and clove spice. The palate opens floral and sweet, with wheat and yeast flavours gradually giving way to a light bitter, dry finish that lingers pleasantly.
