Verhaeghe Vichtenaar
Vichtenaar is a traditional Flemish red ale from Brouwerij Verhaeghe Vichte, a family-owned brewery in southwest West Flanders, Belgium, with roots reaching back to 1885. Brewed with deeply roasted malt, spicy hops and fruity yeast, the water is drawn from a deep well.
Aged in oak barrels for at least eight months, Vichtenaar develops subtle acidity and complexity. The flavour profile balances sour fruit notes with caramel undertones, shaped by its oak maturation. Despite its modest 5.1% ABV, this unblended ale punches above its weight with a rich character and pleasant sour finish.
