Brouwerij Verhaeghe Vichte merges two classic Flemish ingredients in this fruit beer: sour cherries and cacao. Duchesse Chocolate Cherry is a blend of 1 and 2 year old Duchesse de Bourgogne, aged in oak casks with 200 grams of whole fresh cherries per litre and natural cocoa aroma.

Fermentation occurs in two stages: primary fermentation followed by wild fermentation in the barrel. This creates the beer's distinctive funky, complex character with sweet-sour cherry, dark chocolate, woody tannins and subtle barnyard notes.
