Sterkens St. Paul Speciale
St. Paul Speciale is an amber abbey beer from Brouwerij Sterkens, a Belgian family brewery established in 1651 and still operated by the same lineage today. Brewed according to the 1516 Bavarian Purity Law, this beer employs a dry-hopping technique—adding hops after fermentation—to achieve a sweet, fruity aroma with distinct notes of caramel and malt.
The palate is rich and sweet with subtle bitterness. At 5.5% ABV, St. Paul Speciale offers an approachable abbey beer that balances fruit character with malty depth. The beer earned recognition as the best Belgian beer under 6% at the 2010 Hong Kong International Beer Awards.
