Brouwerij Solaes crafts Mark 1 as a robust Quadrupel with character. This dark brown beer at 11% ABV emerged from an ambitious experiment: a single base batch of 2000 litres was split into five distinct fruity variations. The result is a full and sweet beer with spicy-sweet aromatics and liquorice notes. Warmth from the alcohol and sweetness flow consistently through the nose, palate and finish.

Mark 1 reflects Solaes' Flakkese brewing style: a little rough around the edges, but with genuine heart. The former chicory factory in Ouddorp has been transformed into a thriving brewpub where this ambitious beer has found its home.
