Rodenbach Grand Cru
Rodenbach Grand Cru is a Flemish red ale from Brouwerij Rodenbach in Roeselare, a brewery with two centuries of brewing heritage. This beer is a blend of roughly one-third young beer and two-thirds beer aged for at least two years in massive wooden foeders dating back 150 years. The extended wood maturation creates a complex, wine-like character with pronounced sourness.
The flavour combines citrus and red wine notes with a sharp acidity that builds through the palate. Fruity esters and subtle tannins emerge, giving it more in common with fermented wine than typical beer. The finish is dry and lingering. This is a beer for those who seek intense, challenging flavours.
