Brouwerij Kees delivers an ambitious barrel project: an Imperial Stout matured for 27 months across both bourbon and Islay whisky casks. This is no simple wood aging, but a dual maturation that elevates the beer's complexity to another plane.

The nose reveals layers of roasted chocolate, cocoa and coffee, complemented by smoke and peat-driven notes from the Islay influence. On the palate, caramel and oak dominate, with underlying vanilla tones from the bourbon barrels. The finish is warm and dry, with a lingering bitterness that lingers long.

This is a beer for contemplation, not casual drinking. The full body and high alcohol strength (11.2%) give it a wine-like elegance.
