Augustiner Bräu

Augustiner Oktoberfest Bier

Augustiner-Bräu is Munich's oldest brewery, established in 1328, with a storied connection to Oktoberfest. The brewery has supplied beer to the festival since 1867 and built its own festival hall in castle style in 1903. Today, it remains one of only six breweries permitted to produce the official Oktoberfest beer.

This Festbier honours traditional Bavarian brewing, balancing malty sweetness with restrained hop character. The nose reveals earthy, herbal notes layered with subtle spice and the backbone of sweet malts. On the palate, grainy malty richness gives way to bready savouriness and a mild, clean hop bitterness. At 6.3% ABV, it drinks lighter than its depth suggests—a deceptively approachable beer that rewards careful attention.
