Princesse Bier
Princesse Bier is a historical Saison from d'Oranjeboom, a brewery with roots reaching back to 1671 in Rotterdam. This luxury beer from the eighteenth century was relaunched in 2016 by United Dutch Breweries, brewed from an original recipe dating to 1866.
The blend of licorice, coriander and curaçao creates a spiced flavour profile. The beer displays a rich amber colour and combines sweet malt and fruit cake notes with toffee and caramel, balanced by a refreshing bitter orange peel finish. Saison fermentation adds fruity and warm spice layers.
Princesse Bier marks an authentic return to a beer style that was enjoyed worldwide a century before the India Pale Ale emerged.
