Avereest Zwarte Turf
Zwarte Turf is a stout from Brouwerij Avereest in Dedemsvaart, a young brewery that has revived craft brewing in the Reestdal region after more than a century of absence. The name honours the peat workers who were supplied with beer by brewer Roelof Veeningen in 1818.
This stout appears deep black with a moderate head. The nose reveals fruity and sweet notes. On the palate, malty and sweet characters dominate, complemented by chocolate and a gentle bitterness. The beer carries a full body and finishes with balanced complexity.
