Oudewalletje Quarantaine Tripel
The Quarantaine Tripel from Brouwbedrijf 't Oudewalletje was born from circumstance. When hospitality venues closed during COVID-19, two neighbors on the Oudewal in Warmenhuizen decided to brew their first beer – and this became their debut. It is a golden-blonde, slightly hazy tripel with a full, sweet character.
The aromas are spiced and complex: coriander and cardamom take centre stage, with hints of ginger and fruity notes. The palate echoes those spices and seasonings, supported by a malty foundation. Despite the sweetness, a subtle bitterness in the finish maintains balance.
At 8.6% ABV, this is a robust, craft tripel that proved these hobby brewers had more to offer than lockdown nostalgia.
