Briljant What’s Eating Gilbert?
What's Eating Gilbert? is a fruity saison from Briljant Brouwhuis, the brewing project of Rob Alphenaar based in Haarlem. This is no ordinary brew: a single base recipe of 2000 litres was split into five distinct fruity variants, anchored by white Muscat grapes and Nelson Sauvin hops.
The beer appears straw-gold and hazy with a full, fluffy head. The nose opens with fresh, fruity aromatics featuring citrus and malt notes alongside a subtle tart character. On the palate, lightly spiced straw flavours lead to a dry finish, with Nelson Sauvin providing a clean, measured bitterness.
