Aurora Australis II is a landmark collaboration between Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth, Australia and Norwegian craft brewery Nøgne Ø. Brewed in Australia as a Belgian-style tripel, this 11% beer was then shipped to Norway for maturation in Australian Port barrels, creating a remarkable transatlantic exchange. The barrel aging transforms the base tripel into something far removed from its Abbey origins.

The nose presents sweet toffee, vanilla and red wine notes with subtle orange and oak. On the palate, dark fruit—raisin and plum—takes centre stage alongside caramel and brown sugar. The Port barrel influence is unmistakable, lending a dessert-wine quality reminiscent of Muscatel or Sauternes. The finish is warm and lingering, with gentle sweetness and alcohol warmth.
