Brauerei Ried

Rieder India Pale Ale

Brauerei Ried, based in Ried im Innkreis, Austria, has been brewing since 1536. Their India Pale Ale is a top-fermented interpretation of the English colonial style, brewed with just hops, water, malt and yeast in keeping with tradition.

The beer pours amber to golden-brown with natural haze and a beige head. The nose reveals caramel, forest honey and dusty, powdered milk notes, alongside peach and stone fruit fruitiness with hints of pine and herbal spice. The palate opens with moderate sweetness and caramel character, then shifts toward hop-driven bitterness with citrus and restrained grapefruit, finishing dry and minerally.

This is a moderate-bodied, approachable IPA that balances malt sweetness with hop bitterness without demanding intensity. The finish lingers with a clean, dry bitterness that doesn't overpower.
