La Corne du Bois des Pendes Quadrupel
La Corne du Bois des Pendus Quadrupel from Brasserie des Légendes is a golden-amber, powerful Belgian ale aged on wood chips at 12% ABV. The wood maturation imparts vanilla and oak character that distinguish this quadrupel from its traditional abbey-style peers.
The aroma is notably sweet and alcoholic with spicy notes. On the palate, caramel and Belgian candi sugar from the malt blend with oak and vanilla from the wood aging. Dark dried fruits add complexity to the flavour profile.
The body is full and warming, with fine carbonation throughout. Best enjoyed at 11°C in the brewery's signature horn glass, this is a contemplative beer that rewards slow sipping and pairs well with rich foods and aged cheeses.
