Björt emerged from a personal health journey. Icelandic entrepreneur Hrefna Bachmann conceived the idea during lockdown when she realised that even a single beer would consume a significant portion of her daily carbohydrate allowance on a keto diet. Returning to London, she spotted a clear market gap: while low-carb lagers thrived in Iceland and Scandinavia, they barely existed on British shelves.

Brewed in Sussex by Hepworth Brewery using a three-week fermentation process, each 330ml bottle contains just 0.3g of carbohydrates—among the world's lowest. Naturally gluten-free and lower in calories than traditional lagers, yet without sacrificing flavour. Björt employs noble German hops (Saaz and Hallertau Hersbrucker) that deliver delicate floral notes and subtle spice. A beer for health-conscious drinkers who refuse to compromise between enjoyment and responsibility.
