Oude Geuze Oud Beersel
Oude Geuze Oud Beersel is a traditional gueuze from one of Belgium's last authentic lambic blenderies. This spontaneously fermented beer follows European-protected methods, crafted from water, barley malt, wheat and hops. It is a blend of aged lambics matured for at least one year in wooden barrels.
The gueuze displays a characteristically fruity aroma with hoppy undertones. On the palate, green apples, grapefruit and white wine notes emerge, complemented by subtle honey and yeasty qualities. The profile is complex and dry, more wine-like than simply tart.
This is a beer for those exploring the higher, more refined expressions of the gueuze style. At 6.5% ABV with a dry, lingering finish, it rewards patience—the brewery recommends cellaring for up to 20 years.
