Jopen Extra Stout
Jopen Extra Stout is a Dutch stout at 5.5% ABV that revives a style that dominated Dutch brewing from 1850 to 1950. Brewed at Jopenkerk, the church-turned-brewery in central Haarlem where Jopen has operated since 2010, this is a dry stout built on roasted barley malt.
The beer is pitch black with a creamy head. The aroma carries dark roasted character with notes of cocoa and nuttiness. On the palate, it is dry and intense, with chocolate, coffee and caramel flavours developing across the taste. The finish is clean and bitter, true to the traditional Dutch stout identity.
