Stouterik
Stouterik is Brasserie de la Senne's dry stout, brewed in Brussels since 2003 by a brewery known for doing things its own way. This is an Irish-style stout: dark and roasty, built on roasted malt and unmalted roasted barley. Dryness dominates, backed by a firm hop bitterness characteristic of the brewery.
The nose shows roasted grain with hints of chocolate and dried fruit. The palate is dry and bitter with roast character, and the finish carries a touch of charcoal. Despite modest alcohol content, the beer feels substantial. This is no creamy abbey stout, but a sharper, more European take on the style.
