Iwate Kura Beer is the brand of Sekinoichi Shuzo, a brewery in Iwate Prefecture with over 100 years of heritage. Originally a sake producer, the company began brewing beer in 1995, shortly after microbreweries were legalized in Japan. The brewery operates as a unique cooperative backed by five companies.
