Bacchus
Bacchus is a Flemish Oud Bruin from Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck, a brewery tracing its roots to 1865. Brewed since 1930 in the tradition of mixed fermentation, this beer matures in oak barrels for at least 18 months, developing its characteristic subtle sourness and complexity. Noble hop varieties provide a herbaceous backbone to the aroma.
The base beer undergoes slow transformation in wood, where natural acidity and wild fermentation evolve. Bacchus is also offered with added fruit—raspberry and cherry—which undergo secondary fermentation, adding tart fruit notes and soft oak character to the palate.
