Tre Fontane
Abbazia delle Tre Fontane in Rome has brewed beer in the Trappist tradition since 1854. Their singular offering is a golden Tripel distinguished by an unusual ingredient: eucalyptus leaves. This addition gives the beer a distinctive character with citrus, honey and herbs such as rosemary and coriander.
The palate opens with honey, eucalyptus and sage, followed by banana, clove and cinnamon. The body is full and complex, with a dry finish where bread, malt and hops emerge. Bitterness is assertive yet balanced, with a lingering aftertaste that persists on the palate.
