Quadrupel
La Trappe Quadrupel has been the flagship of Brouwerij de Koningshoeven since 1991 and is the namesake of the quadrupel style itself. This Trappist ale is brewed within the walls of Koningshoeven Abbey in Berkel-Enschot following a closely guarded recipe developed by the monks.
The beer displays a warm amber colour with a creamy head. Aromas reveal clove and nuts, balanced by vanilla, raisins and banana. The palate is full and warming, with malty sweetness of dates and caramel, followed by a light, pleasant bitterness. Bottled with yeast and sugar, it continues to ferment in the bottle, creating a unique character.
At 10% ABV, this quadrupel delivers a full-bodied, intensive experience with well-balanced sweetness and bitterness.
