Aulne Abbey has brewed beer since the Middle Ages, following Cistercian traditions. The brewery was destroyed by fire in 1752 but rebuilt in 1796. Today, Brasserie Val de Sambre produces a range of abbey beers from the former abbey stables, each undergoing bottle refermentation.

These blonde abbey beers are defined by their bottle fermentation and soft, fruity character. They offer aromas of sweet flowers and yellow fruit, with low bitterness and a gentle mouthfeel. The style echoes a tripel but with greater roundness and sweetness.
