Traquair Jacobite Ale
Traquair Jacobite Ale is a robust Scottish ale at 8% ABV, first brewed in 1995 to commemorate the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion. Produced at Traquair House Brewery—one of Scotland's oldest inhabited houses with brewing roots in the early 1700s—this ale is crafted using equipment nearly 300 years old, including a copper vessel from 1738.
Jacobite Ale stands out for its use of coriander, an ancient spice that adds exotic aromatic depth. The beer delivers rich dark malt with notes of dried stone fruit and toffee, balanced by peppery hop character. On the palate, warming malt sweetness mingles with subtle ashy bitterness and a pleasant alcohol warmth that lingers.
