Traquair House Brewery

STUART Ale

Stuart Ale is a lighter expression from Traquair House Brewery in the Scottish Borders, a property with over 900 years of continuous habitation. The brewery was restored in 1965 by Peter Maxwell Stuart, the 20th Laird, who rediscovered an original 18th-century recipe. Stuart Ale follows Traquair's traditional brewing methods, combining pale malted barley with a touch of roasted grain.

At 4.5% ABV, this ale offers an approachable entry to Traquair's heritage. The flavour balances malty character with restrained fruit notes and a gentle hop bitterness. It represents a faithful interpretation of the ales that would have been brewed at the house during the estate's earlier brewing centuries.
