Bellevaux Black emerged from co-owner Wil Schuwer's quest to recreate a beer he discovered during a 1978 pub tour in York. This dark stout from the family-run Malmedy brewery draws on Ardennes spring water, Belgian malt, and hops from its own garden and Alsace.

The aroma brings roasted notes of chocolate, coffee and licorice, grounded in dark grain character. On the palate, initial sweetness gradually gives way to dark fruit and smoke, finishing dry. A malty foundation supports subtle herbal undertones throughout.

Brewed unfiltered and unpasteurised, Bellevaux Black develops a full, rounded mouthfeel befitting its 6.3% strength.
