Petit Orval
Petit Orval is the lighter expression from Brasserie d'Orval, a Trappist brewery nestled within the walls of Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval in Belgium's Gaume region. Brewed with French barley malted in Belgium and a touch of caramel malt, then finished with German and French hop varieties, this blonde ale carries the abbey's signature approach.
The palate strikes a refined balance between dry hop bitterness and subtle fruit character. Despite its modest strength, Petit Orval shares the house's elegant restraint: a medium body, fine carbonation, and a dry finish. Fermentation and maturation contribute delicate fruity notes that emerge without overpowering the clean, measured profile.
