Boerenjongens
Boerenjongens from Moersleutel Craft Brewery is an 11% Imperial Stout that stands out for its distinctive pastry stout approach. Founded by four brothers in Alkmaar, the brewery engineered this beer with 200 kilos of raisins split into two treatments: half are steamed into thick molasses, the other half soaked in brandy. Ceylon cinnamon provides the finishing flourish, creating a rich, spiced character throughout.
The grain bill blends barley malt, rye, oats, spelt and wheat with smoked malt, golden syrup, coffee and vanilla. Vegetarian bacon flavouring adds an unexpected layer of complexity. At 11% ABV, the result is a full, intense experience that reflects Moersleutel's philosophy of engineered, boundary-pushing craft.
